The Animals Were Never Alone
a Choose Your Own Adventure Essay
by Maria Lepistö and the Animal Sound Society
Sometimes you choose to listen to an animal just because of its funny name, like the Bold-striped Tit-Babbler, the Mindanao Bleeding-Heart or the Black-Cheeked-Lovebird. Some animal voices sound similar to human voices. Goats and cows make you laugh, it sounds like they are about to take a shit. You empathize with the Northern Sea Elephants. Some of the donkeys sound desperate.
